The World Cup is in full flow and it is no secret that the world’s best footballers, who are showing off their skills in Brazil, are earning a substantial sum of money for participating in the month long tournament.
The 29-year old Portugal superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, is reportedly earning $490,870 a week, after tax, amounting to a staggering $2,243,997 (USD) to take part in the 32-day event.
But how far does this fortune reach when it comes to real estate? we have done the math. The global real estate website released an infographic showing how many of the most common sized properties could be purchased in emerging markets, for the World Cup salary of the FIFA Ballon d’Or winner.
The infographic and below list of results reveals some impressive figures when it comes to property purchasing around the globe. For the amount that Ronaldo will earn for playing in the tournament, you could purchase a whole settlement of houses in Africa, including not one but an enormous 37 three-bedroom, two-bathroom properties in Madagascar and 27 houses with three bedrooms and one bathroom in Uganda.
If you’re looking to purchase real estate in Asia, Ronaldo’s World Cup earnings will buy you an impressive 37 three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartments in Pakistan. If you’re more interested in Bangladesh, with the $2,243,997 wage you can purchase 23 apartments of the same size.
